Talitha Cumi: Damsel Arise is a powerful theatrical resurrection, where Black women return to themselves, their truth, and their voice through story, song, and spirit.
Presented in two acts—The Evolution of a Woman and The Nature of a Woman—this original work blends monologue, music, poetry, and dance to explore the emotional, spiritual, and ancestral journeys of Black womanhood. From the roles we inherit to the emotions we often suppress, Talitha Cumi invites us all to witness what happens when a Black Woman dares to rise.
